Artisan Group countertop fabricators across America raised $32,000 at the group’s first national granite yard sale, “Counters For A Cause,” to help Homes for Our Troops to build specially-adapted homes for veterans. Homeowners purchased beautiful pieces of stone remnants and slabs at discounted prices and helped a veteran at the same time.

Artisan Group Executive Director Chad Seiders recently presented the check to Marine Corporal Neil Frustaglio, a Homes For Our Troops representative and marine who recently received a home from the organization.

“These marines have given their blood, sweat, tears and in some cases part of themselves to defend our rights and freedoms in this country,” says Chad Seiders, Artisan Group Executive Director. “It is a privilege to give something back to them.”

Homes for Our Troops

Homes for Our Troops is a national non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001. They assist severely injured servicemen and servicewomen and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and to coordinate the process of building a home that provides maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independent.

Allentown, PA – Eastern Surfaces, Inc. provided Silestone, quartz, countertops for the kitchen and laundry rooms for a home on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  The home was built for a young widow, Trisha Urban, and her daughter, Cora, who live in Tilden Township, Berks County.  The family received a three-bedroom home and a new lease on life – courtesy of the Berks County Homebuilders Association and many volunteers and vendors.  Eastern Surfaces is proud to have played a small part in the building of this beautiful home.   The project was completed in partnership with Cosentino Silestone. The show which features the products and labors of local area craftsmen and volunteers airs Sunday, October 24^th at 8 pm on ABC.
